Nintendo's connection tour

Originally, I was going to update this blog everyday, but for the past two, perhaps three days I have been either too busy, too tired or just could not be bothered to write one.

Now I did say I would write about the Sims 3, but that again shall be put on hold, it is one of those things that will continue to linger in the background of both my mind and my Laptop as Fernando and Carlos Maverick continue about their mundane lives, which are controlled by me, God of their tiny world.

But enough about the Sims, this blog is in memory of my weekend. I spent the weekend at the Nintendo Connection Tour. Each year the gaming company Nintendo, seemingly unhappy with their strangle hold on the gaming world have this 'Connection Tour' around Australia, promoting whatever new game they have thrown out at us.

This year, was Wii Sports Resort. A new game featuring new 'state of the art software' for the Wii. This state of the art software is a small addition to the Wii remote, selling at $30 RRP.
It increases the sensitivity of the Wii remote, and with this 'Handy' new feature a mere tilt of the hand could affect the outcome of that bowling game, basketball shot or even shooting a target in Archery.

Now the booth itself was rather small, as it usually is, one mall can only allocate so much space for a bunch of game consoles. The staff who were preppy youngsters didn't know much about what they were doing, and by youngsters I mean that they were younger than me. Many of them joked about how they didn't even know how to set up a Wii.

Now forgive me if I'm wrong but isn't that a tad bit foolish? Oh my, let us hire a bunch of preppy youngsters who have never even turned on a Wii to promote....the WII! They were as rude as they were ignorant, a friend of mine and myself had stayed there the whole day, although we weren't playing all the games the entire time we were there to get out our houses and bask in each others company.

These 'preppy and outgoing' people were rude to us and spoke about us behind our backs, leering at us from under their promotional 100% paper hats.

Day two was more or less the same, although this time, being the nerds we are, were in costumes. The spiteful comments continued as our group, now two people larger continued through to their little closed off gaming 'Resort Paradise'

All this spite and hate changed with one simple act of kindness, Luke, a good friend of mine had helped one of the girls (the most spiteful one might I add) pick up a drink bottle as she appeared to be having back problems. One small act of kindness changed her attitude, and with hers, the others followed suit.

Sometimes, that's all it takes.
