Sims 3

Once again I find myself struggling to focus, no, not because of the flu that has taken it's almighty hold on me but simply because I am lazy. Everyone has their moments, I just tend to be hit by that ever deadly sin more often than not.

I'm not saying I'm a lay-a-bout with no passion or ambition in life, as that is far from the truth, everyday I write in hopes to one day pull out a coherent readable novel out my butt, perhaps like Stephanie Meyer did with Twilight. Although I don't own a thesaurus so I won't be able to fill page after page of mindless dribble about how Edward Cullen is a god among gods and how lovely he smells.

Seriously...how can one girl be so obsessed with the way someone smells, if I am ever like that please, I implore you to whack me over the head with a 2X4 embedded with rusty nails coated in lemon juice.

Now, where is this entry going? I believe I was going to finally talk about the Sims Three, a game which has stolen a small slot of my days hours and strangled every last second of it and then some. Even now, as I type this the game is running, as my little Simulated people go about their mundane lives, sleeping, eating, working and eating again before a few 'woo hoo's followed by more sleep.

Yet I am jumping ahead, first off, everyone should know what the Sims is, and what the game is about. Unless of course you live under a rock or have yet to even glance at a tabloid of some sort. You get to create little people and live out their lives controlling their every move. You pretty much are a god, which is the greatest thing you could ever amount to be. Too bad its just a game.

Now you can add many personality quirks to your little sims including paranoia, kleptomania and flirty inappropriate behaivour. Of course you can always have them as shy quiet outstanding law abiding citizens but where is the fun in that?

You can also shut them in a room with no doors and watch them slowly starve to death if you so wish it. I myself have created a large family which spurred from one gay Guy. Fernando Maverick.

The game comes with far less items and hair styles, it lacks the pool table which for me was always a must have item inside the typical sims household. This severe lack of items would be EA Games ploy at getting more money, as you would have to buy the expansions or pay to get the downloadable content to 'enhance your Sims Experience'

I do like the game, but to hell if I am ever to pay for any of those things. I was planning on giving you all a small taste of what Fernando's life has been like, but to be honest I just can't be bothered, he had a gay lover named Carlos, Carlos cheated on him with a maid, so Fernando did the same thing, they had a few kids, Carlos died and still had the desire to "WooHoo" The maid and ended up having ghost babies.

Oh and before I forget:

Yes, that is me.

Woohoo is sex.
Hot steamy sex.

Small entry about AVCON 09

Ok, once again its been days since my last entry, but attempting to write a coherent piece of writing everyday seems to escape me. Let's see, over the weekend I went to the local anime and gaming convention, and like many a nerd I dressed up as a popular character. Hunny Sempai. A little huggable molestable child. I got quite a lot of attention.

Now normally I would write a lot more, but I am currently sick and doubled over in pain, the price of a stubborn child such as myself. I payed $35 for a weekend pass, and by golly gee I was going to get my darn weekend, even if I was wobbling around and throwing up by the end of it, which I was.

Let's see, Suppose I add an extra feature to my journals? Perhaps photos or a photo stream? I doubt many people actually come across this at the moment. Who knows if many ever will. I just simply have my say, like every other individual who has access to the internet.

Once again, I have held off my rant about the Sims 3, but I assure you its something that is looming in the distance, like an ominous sign.

Nintendo's connection tour

Originally, I was going to update this blog everyday, but for the past two, perhaps three days I have been either too busy, too tired or just could not be bothered to write one.

Now I did say I would write about the Sims 3, but that again shall be put on hold, it is one of those things that will continue to linger in the background of both my mind and my Laptop as Fernando and Carlos Maverick continue about their mundane lives, which are controlled by me, God of their tiny world.

But enough about the Sims, this blog is in memory of my weekend. I spent the weekend at the Nintendo Connection Tour. Each year the gaming company Nintendo, seemingly unhappy with their strangle hold on the gaming world have this 'Connection Tour' around Australia, promoting whatever new game they have thrown out at us.

This year, was Wii Sports Resort. A new game featuring new 'state of the art software' for the Wii. This state of the art software is a small addition to the Wii remote, selling at $30 RRP.
It increases the sensitivity of the Wii remote, and with this 'Handy' new feature a mere tilt of the hand could affect the outcome of that bowling game, basketball shot or even shooting a target in Archery.

Now the booth itself was rather small, as it usually is, one mall can only allocate so much space for a bunch of game consoles. The staff who were preppy youngsters didn't know much about what they were doing, and by youngsters I mean that they were younger than me. Many of them joked about how they didn't even know how to set up a Wii.

Now forgive me if I'm wrong but isn't that a tad bit foolish? Oh my, let us hire a bunch of preppy youngsters who have never even turned on a Wii to promote....the WII! They were as rude as they were ignorant, a friend of mine and myself had stayed there the whole day, although we weren't playing all the games the entire time we were there to get out our houses and bask in each others company.

These 'preppy and outgoing' people were rude to us and spoke about us behind our backs, leering at us from under their promotional 100% paper hats.

Day two was more or less the same, although this time, being the nerds we are, were in costumes. The spiteful comments continued as our group, now two people larger continued through to their little closed off gaming 'Resort Paradise'

All this spite and hate changed with one simple act of kindness, Luke, a good friend of mine had helped one of the girls (the most spiteful one might I add) pick up a drink bottle as she appeared to be having back problems. One small act of kindness changed her attitude, and with hers, the others followed suit.

Sometimes, that's all it takes.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Last Night I ventured to the movies, with my little sister and good friend Luke and his parents in tow. It was opening night and the cinema was packed, I must say I am slightly disappointed with the people of my fair city of Adelaide. I was expecting, no hoping to see a few people adorning witches hats, robes and makeshift wands. Alas, my simplistic hopes were shattered.

Although not everything was a loss, as I was in the arcade beforehand, and being skillfully skillful at the skilltester I retrieved a Chimchar; one of three starter pokemon in the Diamond/Pearl/PLatinum games and a Sid the sloth, promoting the Ice Age 3 movie. A little boy watched in awe as I retrieved one toy after another. He commented on how he wanted the sloth, and brandished a plush Diego, the sarcastic sabre toothed tiger. I offered a trade, after all, it didn't bother me, and why not make a little boy smile?

And boy, did that boy smile, he danced around expressing his thanks in vivid hand motions and enthusiastic banter. I always enjoy making a kid smile. I saw him again during the Harry Potter movie, and gave him a friendly wave.

Now, onto the namesake of this blog, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. The movie starts off with the mundane Warner Brothers Logo, amidst smokey clouds, it zooms in and then proceeds to cut to Harry, our delightfully heroic protagonist reading a Wizards newspaper in a 'muggle' diner. Now to me, this is just plain idiocy, but hey, I'm just the viewer.

The movie continues to lightly skim the depth that the book goes into as it progresses, and nearing the end, it comes to the part that quite frankly, had me in hysterics. Now if you haven't read the 6th book in the series or have yet to see the movie and are living under a rock wondering what is happening then I implore you not to read what I have to say in the next paragraph.

Yes, it is a spoiler.

Dumbledore, inevitably dies in this movie. It was meant to be portrayed as a sad affiar of betrayal, heartbreak and loss. Yet as he died, Dumbledore fell. How did he fall? some magic here and there and standing on a tall tower. He threw his feeble hands up high over his head and had an overdramatic slow motion fall.

It's been done, over and over. Even in the series of Harry Potter moviies the 'slow motion fall' has been overally used. Really now, should they not give us viewers a little more razzle dazzle?

Overall it was a good movie, despite the insane plot holes that can only be filled by reading the actual top heavy book.

Now I have recently aquired the Sims 3, so off I go to play that, and perhaps I shall blog about it in my next post.

Twilight, yet another rant

I begin my first blog post by saying this;

I am not a pimp, nor am I pimpin or having pimpin' times. So why the name you ask? Who knows? As I sat here staring at my laptop's illuminating soft glow I was troubled as to what to name this new blog of mine.

Then, with its technological razzle dazzle, the TV displayed a cartoon pimp, smiling with his gold teeth and royal purple attire. Topped with a spotted feather, wedged in his hat.

Or perhaps its was the times I spent with my good friend Damien, as we used our times in photography class creating a faux newsletter called 'Glens Pimpin' Times.' It was a lot of fun and if I were able to revisit my youth it would certainly be something I would continue. We got to the point where classmates and friends would pay us the reasonable amount of $1 to get their very own copy of our not so prestigeous work of written art.

Speaking of written art, I am hoping to become a writer, perhaps of the overally populated fantasy genre. Yet you won't see me spouting out nonsense about sparkling vampires in the sun's glorious rays.

Yes. That was a stab at the Twilight series.

I myself, have read and own the books, and seen the movies. I actually enjoyed reading the books, despite the pointless babbling, describing Edwards god-like being. Yet I can point out the many flaws in both the execution of the writing and the over-used storyline and one dimensional charecters. I for one am not a big fan of the whole 'Mary Sue' thing, and am getting quite annoyed with the fan girls. There have been reported cases where some of these fans have resorted to throwing acid at the Twilight haters, now tell me Twilight fans, would your precious 'Edward' or 'Jacob' condone such childish obsessive behaivour?

I think not.

With that I shall end my rant before I continue and bore you all with why I dislike the Twilight fandom. Since such rants have been done over and over again. In fact I'm probably one of the last people to jump on the whole 'Blogging about Twilight' Bandwagon. I'm so far behind that the bandwagon has lost a wheel and needs a new coat of paint, perhaps a nice firetruck red.

If you enjoy reading these little bits of information than Kudos to you, I truly appreciate the fact that you have taken a small amount of your time to read what is on my mind. I for one am unsure if this would ever prove to be an interesting read, but if you are sitting there, reading this now, I owe you a cookie. Laced with delicious goodness.

Perhaps I will write another blog in the new day, which by my clock isn't far off.
