Subway Shenanigans

Subway has this little option, to double anything. Sure it’s not blatantly advertised but their friendly staff more often than not grit their teeth and ‘politely’ ask, “Would you like to add anything else to that?”

Now during my lunch break, I was standing there pondering this.

Just, just bear with me for a second…

What if…

Are you listening?

What if…

I asked, for extra bread?

Not what you were expecting was it? No? Let me continue.

I normally get double cheese, this time….this time I wanted double roll! I’m not talking about a foot long as opposed to a 6inch, I am talking about a roll inside of a roll, topped with roll.

It began as a joke, a simple idea of “I want a double roll, half toasted, hall fresh. With mozzarella cheese in the middle.

Me, being me came to the wonderful conclusion of “this doesn’t have to be an idea! Let’s get that SH** happening!” So the next day on my next lunchbreak, magic was going to happen.

The girl asked me what I wanted, I said “I want a six inch, Italian herb and cheese, but I want you to put another six inch inside it.”

She stared for a few moments, I can only imagine she was baffled by my greatness, my fantastic idea. I’d get it patented and make a fortune off of fat people eating subs.

“I’m sorry..what…?”

Her confused voice broke my non egotistical stupor, I explained it to her again slowly. Using my hands to depict the perfect ‘shove some bread into some other bead’ action.

“Oh, well..you’ll be charged for a footlong.”

That was fine by me, so she went on with my demand, “fresh or toasted?”

I replied, perhaps a bit too enthusiastically as she stepped back. “BOTH!”

“I…I can’t..what?” She was laughing now, perhaps she assumed I was joking, I was not. I put on my best Serious Business face, because I, in fact. Meant Business.

See?

“Ok, toast the outside…and leave the inside one fresh, but I want cheese attached to the outside one…the mozzarella one.” Again, I talked her through it waving my arms as though I was fluent in some sort of made up sign language. The person behind me, in line was annoyed. He cleared his throat, as businessmen do and said in a businessmen like way;

“You should be considerate of those behind you.”

I turned to him, he had ordered a footlong, I don’t care what was on it. I just stared at his sandwich, which he was going to have toasted too. I watched as she put his in at the same time as mine, I shrugged my shoulders, giving an insincere apology.

That part of the story had nothing to do with my magnificent creation, I just wanted to draw an annoyed looking businessman, I believe I have successfully failed at that.

Now onto the fresh part of the sub, I got peri-peri chicken, more cheese and the usual lettuce, carrot salt and pepper.

What no tomatoes?

F** tomatos, I don’t like them. They’re too wet. It’s like shoving a bucket of wet water on bread. Water that is wetter than normal water….

….F***ing tomatoes

In the end, she managed to complete my insane, fantastic multi million dollar idea sub. I wanted to give her a good review for her great effots but they had no review forms. I asked if her manager was in and she said no. I felt a little dismayed, how would she know how fantastic I felt? How she had become somewhat famous being the firt sandwich artisan to make.. to make…THIS:

Running out of ideas and time, I quickly yammered, “you gatta, comazi…yeh!” Whilst giving her a thumbs up.

She was less than appreciative.

I didn’t care.

I had the best thing ever created, even if it was hard to eat and I ended up discarding the crusty outer layer.

/end.

Pens *twitch PENS!

In the month that I have worked in the office workplace I have learnt many a thing.

1 - People are scavengers, not saying in a bad way though, when there are tasty treats placed out to eat they will disappear within a matter of minutes, or if the average worker isn't all that hungry, in a matter of a few hours.

2 - Humour is something that is truly needed, if you don't have a good sense of it don't bother working in an office, in fact, don't bother leaving your house, don't watch TV or the news, don't read any books that offer more advice than eating green eggs and ham in a boat.

3 - No matter what the weather is like outside, it is always a comfy temperature in the office, that's right cool as a cucumber. *pulls out surfy dude motion thing*

4 - DISHES there are lots of them

Finally, 5- PENS...

That's right pens, if I have learnt one thing working here it is to safeguard your pen with your very life, and if you are unable to do that, bring an army of pen soilders, green, red, blue, black. No matter the colour, you'll need them at some point.

Pens tend to go missing quite a lot around here, oh yes we joke about the pen thieves and we all have a jolly good laugh. But secretly, we are all very wary of each other. With the shifty eyes that go <.< >.> and the quick darty movements we make as we swipe pens away from our co-workers. It is truly a grim battlefield.

I'm sure it would be the same at any workplace, if you peer through the shiny happy-go-lucky exterior and the friendly faces you'll unviel the mask and see with clear eyes, the sullen faces of weary workers. Whom have not slept in days, nor eaten in months as they ravage to protect what little pens they have left.

Now me, I am quite comfortable with my supply of six...err....five pens. I got two awesome Game Trader ones which I grabbed from Tony, who runs the Game Traders (IT SELLS GAMES) store nearby. Oh yes, I also have two red ones and a blue one.

The blue one, is a bit of a trickster, I originally had a piece of sticky tape stuck to it with "Tiffany's Pen" The pens name is Peter 'On Nettleham the 3rd But to keep it simple we'll just call him P.E.N. Now Pen went missing, and minutes later was returned with a small message taped to his side that read 'Sorry I stole your Pen, *name*'(name ommitted for privacy cause I am a good girl~) I found this very amusing.

Probably a lot more amusing than a normal person would, so I replied with 'Stop stealing my pen!' written messily in red because red means GRR. The next day P.E.N went missing again, only to return with another message inscribed on his once pure sleek form, "I can't help it" It read.

So in another red fit of redness I scrawled back "FIND YOUR OWN."

...Pen has yet to go missing again.

Although i am sure he went missing once, he just has yet to recieve a tattoo from his other user, Darn P.E.N pimpin' himself out to whatever hand choose sto touch him.

I'm waiting for that other message to appear, for another tattoo to be added to his hard plastic casing.

I took a picture of P.E.N MARVELL AT HIM

Pidgeons

pidgeon Pictures, Images and Photos

Today, as I was collecting the post for my work, I walked past a group of pidgeons, now these pidgeons were happily pecking away at some bread crumbs outside of the bakery. Just mindin' their own pidgeony business.

Too bad they were in the way, I tried to step over them and make noises to get them to move, but the darn things didn't budge. They were either too stubborn, too lazy or just plain hungry. So here I am balancing newspapers and letters in one hand and milk in the other trying to slowly edge my way around the little flying critters, cause even though they're annoying little buggers I didn't want to hurt them.

Too bad I'm not as gracefull as I like to think, I ended up stepping on the tail of one of them,I freaked and jumped off immediately yelling "Oh no! I'm sorry!"

People who passed me by gave me weird looks, here is this girl, balancing various items on her shoulders screaming apologies at pidgeons. So, I'm not suprised, I ignored the passerbys and just HAD to make sure the pidgeon was ok.

It was fine, it looks as though it didn't even realize I stepped on it, so I gave a small sigh and made my journey back to work.

However...behind me I hear a slight "coo....coo..."

I ignore it and hasten my pace, the noise gets louder, "COO...COO!" I turn around and there are about four pidgeons following me, I wave my hand, dropping the newspaper as I said once again, "I'm sorry I didn't mean to step on you, I have no food!"

I honestly don't think Pidgeons can understand us, and if they can the bastards are playing dumb, for the pidgeons jumped on my newspaper, so I slowly tried to slide it out from underneath them, all the while getting gawked at by people who just so happen to pass me by and catch sight of my unusual daily antics. I managed to retrieve the paper and get back to work.

Now I am sitting here, typing this, and I swear I can still hear the faint, distant 'cooing' of the pidgeons.

On a completely different note I'm gonna try real hard like to make one post everyday, or have at least 30 posts for November.

I decided to set myself three little Blogger goals to accomplish by the end of this month

1-get 15-20 Followers on my blog
2- make a post a day
3- Slightly change the scheme of it to make it more bright and colourful

Do any of you have any little Blogger goals?

Why this, of all things came to mind is beyond me, but I like repaying the people who comment on my blog often with small things. 'Tis a way of saying thanks.

Afternoon Delights

This isn’t about my baby and I ain’t gonna hold her tight.

No this little afternoon delight is a bit of pure self indulgence, ever since I started this course, I was looking for a nice little place I could eat lunch at or have a drink at, you know, be a regular of theirs and all.

It’s a strange little dream, or perhaps fantasy of mine to be able to walk into a store, and for the people working there to give me a friendly smile and a wave greeting me with a “Hello Tiffany, want your usual today?” Or something of the like.

I think I have found that little piece of ‘paradise’ see, our lunch break goes for an hour, which I think is rather nice, it gives us time to leisurely wander about the great big city, perhaps bask in the glory of our fair towns Balls.

Yes, you read that right, Adelaide, Rundle Mall, the symbol of this city are two giant silver balls, sitting atop each other, reflecting the suns glorious rays and bouncing them off into the eyes of those who pass by.

Ah, but once again I seem to ramble on and get off topic, righteo.

The little piece of heaven, it’s a place I never bothered to go into before, since I don’t like coffee. But I have been a regular at Gloria Jeans Coffee, that’s right a cute little coffee place. My mind is a very strange thing, as I sit in there and sip at my beverage, my mind imagines that I am sitting in that coffee place, ( can’t recall the name at the moment) that is in one of my favorite web comics, Questionable Content. (I will place a link to the comic here when I get home)

I imagine that Good ol’ Marty is sitting next to me, with an exceptionally divine Dora sitting upon his lap. Then my ever favorite Hannalore will come up to me and would probably faint as I rant about my very unhygienic housemates.Boy oh boy I could imagine her tearing them in two, with a ten foot pole of course, and donning a full body radioactive suit.

But yes, every day, or every other day I venture into Gloria Jeans, and purchase a Regular hot white chocolate wish marshmallows. The marshmallows melt into the chocolate drink and actually add a rather nice flavor to it.One time I drank it too fast, and chocked on the marshmallows. Dear readers, have any of you got a tale to tell about coffee related drama or action? This talk of coffee reminds me of my good friend Jana, so if you are reading this Jana, this entry is dedicated to you.

Peace out.
